BECOME A BOARD MEMBER

The Carion Fenn Foundation is a Registered Charity established to provide support, education and resources to individuals impacted by Mental Health, Syringomyelia, Chiari Malformation, Chronic Diseases and Rare Diseases through a variety of health and wellness programs that are free to the public. Our programs include Mental Health Chat, Mental Health Symposium, Mental Health Forum, Mental Health Workshops, Rare Disease Expo, Health 180 with Carion Fenn on Rogers TV Durham and more. The Board of Directors governs the Foundation in line with its mission, vision and values.
 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Governance and oversight
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the President & CEO as she/he develops and implements strategic plans within the organization
  • Approve annual budget, audited reports and material business decisions, meeting all legal and financial responsibilities
  • Review agenda and supporting materials for Board meetings
  • Serve in leadership positions or on committees and take on special assignments
  • Assist in identifying and recruiting other Board Members who would bring skills and connections that would contribute to the foundation’s mission, vision and values
  • Assist with fundraising and solicit donations from individuals and businesses
  • Attend all semi-annual board meetings

 

Terms:

  • Board Members will serve a three-year term and are eligible for reappointment after each term as recommended through the Board Chair review process
  • Each Board Member is responsible for managing a specific portfolio and reporting on it at each board meeting
  • Board Members are expected to contribute a minimum of 10 hours per month
